The world’s one of the most renowned national parks, Masai Mara is truly unique within itself. The perfect place for adventurers, nature lovers and inspiration seekers. The mischievous savanna, where people step in as visitors in the “Home Of Wilds“. Welcome to The Land of Big Five!
The land shines with pride, in the name of Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhinoceros and Cape Buffalo. The ideal safari place where wilds and humans gets to know each other very closely. The opportunistic place for professional wildlife photographers who are searching for great opportunities.
The inspiring place which teaches and shows how to survive for life. Moreover, the perfect timing, strong team work, care for others, plannings and a lot one can learn from the wilds. As an observant, its a huge opportunity to see and understand that “Life is very precious to live”. It inspires to invent own techniques and take challenges for survival. Practically, it highlights the concept of “Do or Die“.
I was overwhelmed with the scenic sunrise over the inspiring land, with cooler mornings which always started with grunting of sleepy hippos and bird chirping. Moreover, an open door which always showed up uninvited wild guests with beautiful horns seeking for breakfast.
Each day was an exciting day for me.
Always wondering about daily lessons from wilds, capturing best moments, enjoying the food and definitely the fresh air. Mosquitoes were my expected guests every night. Only because of yellow fever protection and repellants, I didn’t mind them buzzing around me.
The safari game drive was really exciting. Riding around the bumpy savanna on a land cruiser! Trust me, you wouldn’t mind going for a lower back massage after such comfortable drive. I was so overjoyed to see wild animals from such close distance, specially the lazy cats.
Hot air balloon exploration was the best part! It was quite expensive but the sight – herds of wild beasts and zebras migrating from Serengeti was truly fabulous. The greenish aerial view of Masai Mara and the sunrise was so pleasing. Probably its the best way to explore the wildlife. Crash landing was also a new experience for me but finally did returned in single piece. Experiences like this couldn’t be shared much in words or photographs.
The wild beasts, also known as “The Clowns of Savanna”, is very commonly found and at the same time looks so weird. Zebras being the most notorious animals and these striped smarties often gets moody enough to kick humans, which might show stars in daylight.
Maasai of Masai Mara
Visiting the Maasai village and knowing about their habits and culture, was a complete different experience. The Maasai tribe is popular due to their long preserved culture which they always wants to continue. They have their own diet where they believe in staying fit by drinking cows blood in milk. In their culture, they are allowed to have more than one wives. But the first wife will select the second one.
They also believe that higher they jump, more number of girlfriends they get. I wish what would have been the scenario if this was followed everywhere!
They have their own market to promote and sell their hand made products and invite tourists to know their culture and lifestyle.
Indeed an adventurous and wild journey.
